For Immediate Release:
A Gwinnett Sheriff’s deputy at the Gwinnett Juvenile/Recorder’s courthouse arrested a man for DUI in the parking lot after the man’s car stalled and he registered a .352 on an intoxilyzer test.
The deputy noticed the vehicle parked in a crooked position for more than 20 minutes and a man inside the vehicle attempting to leave. The deputy approached the driver and learned the car was stalled.
The driver, Alexandru Tehnilenco, 29, had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and a 32 ounce container of beer on the driver’s seat. Mr. Tehnilenco failed field sobriety tests and could not stand without assistance and had extremely slurred speech.
His intoxilyzer tests registered .352 and .339. He was charged with DUI and possession of an open container. Gwinnett Jail records show that Mr. Tehnilenco has two prior DUI arrests from 2008.
