Media Release #20140516 – May 16, 2014
Deputies assigned to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division have arrested the President and CEO of a non-profit organization after their investigation revealed that he propositioned a female probationer to receive sexual favors in exchange for false documentation of her required community service hours.
A supervisor at Southeast Corrections notified the Sheriff’s Office of a complaint by one of their female probationers that Jails to Nails President and CEO Darrell Ellison offered to exchange sexual favors for documentation of her required community service hours.
Undercover deputies began a covert operation in which Darrell Ellison again openly solicited the victim to exchange sexual favors for false documentation of her required community service hours. Ellison was arrested yesterday by deputies in a sting operation when he arrived at a location where he believed he would be receiving sexual favors from the victim.
He was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felon Crime (2 counts) and False Statements (2 counts) and was transported without incident to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he has since been released on bond.
Investigators request that and additional victims contact the Investigative Services Division at 770-619-6655
