One of the programs implemented during 1997 was the Victim
Information Notification Everyday (VINE) System.
This is a completely automated victim notification system
that notifies registered victims of domestic violence,
sexual battery, stalking, and other offenses as defined by
law of the perpetrator's release or transfer.
This
is a life-saving program available to crime victims
and their families, 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year. Gwinnett County received an award from the
National Domestic Violence Hotline in 1997, 1998 and
1999 for outstanding service to victims of domestic
violence as a direct result of the Gwinnett County
Sheriff's Department's participation in the VINE system.
Victims
of domestic violence and other crimes may call the toll-free VINE line
at 1-800-467-4941 to register for inmate release, transfer or escape
notification, or to obtain inmate information. You may also
register on line by clicking the link
