Gwinnett Sheriff’s deputies along with the U. S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a man Thursday wanted by Gwinnett Police in connection with a violent jewelry store robbery that occurred in March.
Four males armed with handguns and mallets entered Tara Fine Jewelry on March 22. They robbed the store and struck an elderly male customer in the head during the ordeal.
Gwinnett police made several arrests in the case, but Simone Simon, wanted in connection with the armed robbery had remained elusive. Warrants were obtained for Simon in July and Gwinnett deputies along with the SE Regional Fugitive Task Force began actively searching for Simon.

Members of the Fugitive Task Force, which include Gwinnett Sheriff’s Office, Fulton Sheriff’s Office, Fulton Marshal’s Office, U. S. Marshal’s Office and Atlanta Police Department forced entry to the room and after a brief struggle Mr. Simon was arrested.
He is currently being held at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond on two counts of armed robbery and a hold has been placed on him by another agency.
The arrest was a cumulative effort of a six month investigation by Gwinnett Police Department, Gwinnett Sheriff’s Office, the U. S. Marshal’s Office, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton County Marshal’s Office and Atlanta Police Department.
