For Immediate Release:
Gwinnett Sheriff’s deputies with the Fugitive Unit arrested a man Tuesday evening wanted for failure to appear in court on an earlier kidnapping charge, two counts of battery and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony crime.
Michael Francis was taken into custody at 2109 Holland Place at Holland Park apartments in Lawrenceville.
When deputies arrived at the apartment, they observed Mr. Francis on the balcony of the apartment with a female. He initially tried to flee by attempting to jump from the balcony, but instead ran back into the apartment where deputies forced entry and arrested him in the kitchen.
Mr. Francis was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to show up for his arraignment July 8, 2010 on kidnapping charges. He also faced additional charges for battery and for conspiracy to commit a felony crime after he contacted a supplier and attempted to purchase a half pound of marijuana.
He is currently being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Jail.
